Prosperity in the Now

Join Jamie Adeshpal Carmody for this introspective workshop. Jamie is a practitioner and teacher of Zero Balancing and Kundalini Yoga in the San Antonio area. She is passionate about helping humans be better at being human through these practices.

Is your glass half-empty or half-full? Maybe you are just looking at a glass with some water in it? You can only be as happy as you are in any given moment. Your attitude colors your world and how you perceive your circumstances. Chances are that if you only focus on the things that are not going the way you would like, you are missing out on all the things that are going well. Conversely, if you are overly positive, you may not be truly grounded in what is happening around you. What if you were able to re-set your thinking tendencies to have a more balanced perspective regarding life as a whole not just as the sum of its parts? In this workshop we will explore how to do just that.

Topics covered: What is prosperity for you? Non-violence to the self in word or deed Gratitude practice Contentment without complacency Change your mind, change your world Techniques used: Flash writing, Self-assessment

early bird pricing $30
after 1/19 $35

Kitchen Herb Garden with Stephen Lucke

$40 Donation to Gardopia Gardens

Stephen Lucke is the founder of Gardopia Gardens a biochemist and a strength & conditioning specialist.

The workshop will include construction of a 6" x 12" x 6" inch reused pallet wood container with soil and 2 herb plants. Stephen will also discuss garden maintenance, and the health benefits of using herbs in our daily lives.

Gardopia Gardens is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that teaches healthy lifestyles and garden-based learning. Gardopia was founded in 2015, has a physical location on 619 N. New Braunfels, partners with community / school gardens throughout San Antonio, and has a residential & commercial garden program.

Health benefits "Herbs have been used since ancient times for their medicinal properties, mostly concentrated into teas and tinctures. More recently, their healthful value as a food ingredient has been realized. For one, herbs add a burst of flavor to food, allowing you to cut back on salt without sacrificing taste. And several herbs, including parsley, have significant amounts of the essential vitamins A, C and K.

But the true power of herbs lies in their wealth of protective polyphenols — plant compounds with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Piles of studies show that polyphenols in herbs help combat such diseases as cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and more. Polyphenols are anti-microbial, so they can help protect us from harmful bacteria as well. Although many of the studies on herbs’ effects have involved concentrated solutions of the leaves’ active components, there is evidence that their benefits still apply when they are cooked and eaten as part of a regular meal, too." -Ellie Krieger, Washington Post

The gong is one of man’s oldest therapeutic instruments, and is used in yoga, sound meditation, and vibrational therapy from the distant past to present. A gong bath meditation is an ideal tool for stress reduction, stimulation of the glandular system, and serves as a facilitator to break up emotional, physiological and spiritual blockages. Sound & music are nutrients for the nervous system. Due to its nature, the gong resonates all cells of the body simultaneously in a most powerful & effective way. The goal in all healing, meditative, spiritual, and transformational pursuits is to raise an individuals’ vibratory frequency, and thereby changing a person’s nature of being, restoring the intrinsic state of balance. Siri Bahadur is a musician, Kundalini Yogi, Teacher Trainer and Gong Trainer. A life-long musician, Siri B. discovered the spiritual and healing power of music and mantra in the practice of yoga.
