Dr. Nydia Tijerina Darby presents the Therapeutic Astanga Method.™ This method introduces the unique approach that Nydia uses to draw out the therapeutic potential of Traditional Hatha Yoga postures. The participants will experience an all levels accessible Sun Salutation and a structured sequence of Hatha yoga. Focused attention will be directed towards using a very soft and gentle ujjayi breath to maintain concentration and optimize oxygenation. Core strength, mobility and flexibility of the extremities and the importance of learning how to safely move from standing to transitioning to the floor in sitting, supine and prone will be addressed. The participants will be introduced to Nydia’s Signature 5 areas of Core that can help improve functional mobility and stability when incorporated into asana and daily living activities. This practice is great for those who are ready to deepen their awareness of the subtle and powerful effects of breath awareness that is central to Nydia’s therapeutic yoga practices. All levels of practitioners are encouraged and welcomed to attend.
